Steve Harmon Over The Years

1963-1965, traveled in Europe and Asia.

1965-1968, studied at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, IL.

1968, got married, dropped out, moved to San Francisco.

1970, had my first child, Cyrus Leben Harmon, started my business, Sandia Furniture Co, of Berkeley, CA.


1970-1976, sold furniture.

1976, got divorced, hit bottom.

1977-1979, finally finished college at San Francisco State University with a BA in history.

1979-1988, graduate school at UCLA, M.A. 1983, Ph.D.1988, history. Remarried in 1985, one son, James. Ahmad Harmon born in 1987. I am a two-time Fulbright scholar, and I have taught history at the college level since 1988, first in New York, then in Arkansas, then in Kansas. In the meantime, I have lived and worked for a year or more on each of three different continents, Europe, Asia, and Africa, plus extensive visits to South America.
